Become a Trustee and Make a Difference!
Did you know there are around 10,000 village halls across the country providing a home for fitness classes, amateur dramatics, dances, play groups, parish councils, polling stations and many other local based activities. Most are run as charities. Stanwick Village Hall is one of them, managed by a dedicated group of community volunteers known as trustees.
What Do Trustees Do?
Our trustees play a crucial role in the community by:
- Ensuring Accessibility: Keeping Stanwick Village Hall open and welcoming to everyone, now and in the future.
- Overseeing Management: Hiring and supervising a Village Hall Manager to handle daily operations.
- Maintaining Standards: Making decisions about maintenance and ensuring tasks like annual fire inspections are completed.
- Managing Finances: Ensuring the hall’s financial sustainability. As a non-profit organization, any profit made by Stanwick Village Hall is reinvested directly into maintaining and enhancing the hall.
- Engaging with the Community: Working with people in the village and other community groups to ensure the hall meets the community’s needs now and in the future.
Our Village Hall is a cornerstone of the village, serving as a vital hub for community connection. It's essential that we also look to the future, ensuring the hall evolves to meet the changing needs of our community.
How Much Time and Expertise is Involved with Being a Trustee?
We are a well-established team of trustees, always on the lookout for new volunteers. The time commitment is flexible—give as little or as much time as you can. Key activities include monthly committee meetings and helping out at our fundraising events. No specific experience or expertise is required, just enthusiasm and a bit of your time.
Join us and be a part of something special! Your contribution can make a real difference in our community.
